Crypto.com/NFT says it wants to simplify these tokens for newcomers, and offer one-click purchases using debit cards.
Crypto.com has become the latest brand to launch its own NFT platform — and it’s fair to say that it’s got a pretty star-studded collection of contributors.
The site’s new venture, Crypto.com/NFT, is set to launch on Friday and promises to be “the world’s largest and most user-friendly NFT platform.”
Lionel Richie, Boy George and Snoop Dogg are among the A-listers who are going to be realising new and unique work through the site.
Aston Martin’s F1 team are also involved — and as reported by CoinMarketCap Academy earlier this month, the digital assets platform recently unveiled a multi-year deal to serve as the team’s sponsor. According to Crypto.com, more athletes, teams and leagues are going to be unveiled within weeks.
‘Remarkable Talent Around the World’
Joe Conyers has been appointed as Crypto.com’s head of NFTs, and said:
“I am thrilled to work with remarkable talent around the world and partner with them to shape the future of this new creative medium. We are looking forward to being a thoughtful curator and innovator, connecting fans and collectors with amazing content creators.”
It seems that Crypto.com’s intent is to help uncomplicate the world of NFTs, something that caused teething troubles for Kings of Leon when they released their album in tokenized form. That sale had to be extended as newcomers struggled to get their head around crypto. The platform is set to offer one-click buying using credit and debit cards — and will offer a marketplace where NFTs can be resold.
One of the most surreal quotes about the Crypto.com/NFT launch came from Boy George. He said:
“I love metaphors and mystery and crypto sound like klepto so that makes me a crypto maniac. Art is like a partner? Can you live with it? Digital art is a new emotion and it can be very musical. I'm mixing all of the things I do together, music, art, fashion, poetry and anything else it leads to. I have stopped refusing to be influenced.”
