 <p>The latest episode of The Simpsons, “Treehouse of Horror XXXIV,” took a dig at NFTs (non-fungible tokens) with several references to the overvaluation of these assets.</p>
 <p>The first chapter of the episode titled, “Wild Barts Can’t Be Token” aired on Sunday in the US. In this episode, Bart was accidentally turned into an NFT, with Marge battling through a blockchain-powered world to rescue him.</p>

 <h3 id="mocking-the-value-of-nfts">Mocking The Value Of NFTs</h3>
 <p>The episode also <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="Category Features" href="https://thebittimes.com/features.html">Features</a> multiple appearances by top NFT collections, such as the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC)and Beeple. The BAYC floor price is up by 1.71% in the last 24 hours but remains far below its peak prices.</p>
 <p>The Simpsons mocked the valuation of some NFTs during the episode. After Bart’s tokenization into an NFT, Homer is initially upset but is later enthusiastic about the $1.5 million valuation of the Bart NFT.</p>
 <p>The episode also had multiple references to the recent crash in NFT prices.</p>
 <p>The episode has attracted the attention of NFT enthusiasts, with one saying it paid much emphasis on art.</p>
 <p>“PFPs were painted largely at the bottom of the barrel, whereas art was positioned at a level of prestige,” NFT collector Noah Bolanowski opined. “PFPs were in the lowest class, then Cryptokitties, then digital art at the top.”</p>

 <p>It is not the first time The Simpsons show has addressed the fast-growing blockchain industry. In 2020, the “Frinkcoin” episode featured famous actor Jim Parsons educating viewers about cryptocurrencies and how distributed ledger technology works.</p>
 <p>In October 2022, “The King of Nice” episode had a scene where Krusty lost all his money on NFTs. Krusty refers to NFTs as “Non-Funny TV shows” during the episode.</p>
