<p>Skill-to-market platform, <a href="http://www.altschoolafrica.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AltSchool Africa</a> has obtained full accreditation by the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC). This development was revealed by CEO, Adewale Yusuf at a virtual press conference on Monday.</p> 
<p>Adewale said that the development signifies a huge milestone in the education technology company’s mission to empower millions of Africans with in-demand, future-proof skills. He described the accreditation as a stamp of approval on the learning platform’s curricula, systems and processes, all designed in alignment with global best standards.</p>

<p>He said the ASIC accreditation strengthens AltSchool Africa’s drive to reach more individuals–especially those in underserved communities, with world-class, modern and affordable education, which would enable them to compete favourably with their peers and access limitless career opportunities within and beyond Africa.</p>

<p>He said that with this accreditation which guarantees a leading, globally recognised quality standard in international education, AltSchool Africa is even more motivated to eliminate restrictions and create a pathway for a brighter future, especially for individuals in underserved communities across Africa who now have the opportunity to receive world-class education and skill-training.</p> 
<h4 id="accreditation-demonstrates-altschool-africas-drive-for-high-quality-education" class="wp-block-heading">Accreditation demonstrates AltSchool Africa’s drive for high-quality education </h4> 
<p>ASIC, one of the largest international accreditation agencies operating in over 70 countries, is recognised in the United Kingdom by UKVI–UK Visas and Immigration–part of the Home Office of the UK Government. ASIC is also a member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), the British Quality Foundation (BQF), the International Schools Association (ISA), and an institutional member of THE European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN).</p>

<p>The ASIC accreditation comes on the heels of AltSchool Africa’s announcement in January that it had expanded to Kenya, its second East African country, as part of efforts to deepen its roots in the region which currently ranks behind Nigeria in terms of learner enrollments. Prior to that announcement, AltSchool Africa had introduced “Launchpad”, a free, comprehensive course that provides in-depth insights into the many career paths available in Tech, and the skills required to pursue them.</p>

<p>On his part, the Director of Learning and Academics at AltSchool Africa, Dr Ademola Akinrinola, explained that the accreditation followed an impartial and independent external assessment process to ensure AltSchool Africa’s provisions meet rigorous internationally accepted standards, covering its administration, governance, and educational offering.</p> 
<p>“Achieving ASIC Accreditation demonstrates to students and stakeholders that AltSchool Africa is a high-quality education provider that delivers safe and rewarding educational experiences and is committed to continuous improvement throughout its operation,” Dr Akinrinola said.</p>

<p>Since its launch in 2021, AltSchool Africa has facilitated over 5 million hours of training for more than 60,000 learners from over 100 countries across its 5 schools: Engineering, Product, Data, Business, and Creative Economy. As of December 2023, upwards of 1,500 learners had graduated from its code and co-code diploma programs, many of whom have already launched their careers as paid interns or full-time employees at startups and legacy companies within and outside Africa.</p>
