As Bitcoin reaches a new high every day, all eyes are on Bitcoin and Ethereum options that will expire today.
According to the news of Singapore-based crypto options data platform Greeks.live, 21,000 BTC and 200,000 ETH options will expire on February 16.
Accordingly, while the Put/Call Ratio of BTC options is 0.9, the maximum loss point is $46,000 and the notional value is $1.1 billion.
Looking at Ethereum, ETH options have a Put/Call Ratio of 0.62, a maximum loss point of $2,400, and a notional value of $570 million.
Stating that the crypto market has been quite active this week, Greeks.live said that investors expect Bitcoin to reach the new ATH:

 “The crypto market has been quite active this week, with Bitcoin surpassing $52,000 and all major IVs showing a clear uptrend.
 However, due to the Chinese New Year holiday, the derivatives market in the spot-driven market is relatively flat. Option volume, positions and block trading volume increased moderately. Chinese New Year is coming to an end, Chinese investors will almost return to the market.
 “Investors are already betting that Bitcoin will hit all-time highs before the halving.”

The put/call ratio is calculated by dividing the number of put options by the number of call options. A ratio below 1 means there are more purchases than puts, indicating an upward trend.
A ratio above 1 means there are more put options than call options, indicating a bearish trend. A ratio close to 1 means the market is balanced or neutral.
For Bitcoin, this rate is 0.9; For Ethereum it appears as 0.62. Accordingly, the fact that this ratio is very close to 1 for BTC indicates that sales in Bitcoin are higher than purchases and the price is in a downward trend; It indicates a bullish trend for ETH.
However, time will tell how these rates, along with other data and signals, will affect prices. At this point, do not make your investment decisions based on a single data or report.
