Cardano (ADA) finds itself in an unusual spot amid a fervent altcoin rally, as its price witnesses a mild but consistent decline. While other tokens like <a href="https://news.todayq.com/worldcoin-logs-167-surge-in-7-days-heres-why/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Worldcoin</a> (WLD) are soaring to retest their all-time highs, ADA is struggling, dropping marginally by 0.5% in the last 24 hours to settle at $0.62. This drop in ADA’s price is quite different from how well it was doing recently. It was actually one of the tokens that gained the most. How is ADA doing? 
Over the past week, ADA surged impressively, recording a more than 16% increase. Even more striking is its month-long performance leading up to February 19th, boasting a surge of over 21%. This upward momentum, however, seems to have hit a snag as ADA’s price takes a downward turn. Despite this setback, analysts view the correction as a healthy adjustment rather than a cause for alarm.&nbsp;
As of press time ADA is trading at $0.62, recording a slight decrease of 0.44% over the past day. Cardano’s market cap stands at $22.20 billion making it the 8th largest cryptocurrency. In terms of trading volume, ADA has seen $584.44 million in the last 24 hours, making it the 11th most traded digital currency by volume, as perCoinMarketCap. Dan Gambardello’s take on Cardano 
According to Dan Gambardello, who started Crypto Venture Capital, the recent drop in ADA’s price is actually a good thing. He thinks it’s a chance to invest in ADA for the long run because of its potential to grow. Gambardello says ADA is special because it combines Bitcoin’s security with Ethereum’s decentralization, making it attractive for people interested in <a href="https://news.todayq.com/kadena-spirekey-integrates-with-webauthn-to-provide-seamless-web3-interactions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Web3</a>. He believes ADA is worth more than it’s currently valued and will likely grow a lot in the future.
The rise in Bitcoin prices has also helped ADA. Whenever Bitcoin does well, ADA usually does too. Even though ADA’s price has been going down lately, it’s still strong and has a lot of potential to grow in the future.
Looking at the broader crypto market, the total market capitalization stands at $1.97 trillion, marking a 1.40% increase in the last 24 hours. The trading volume across all cryptocurrencies has also seen a notable uptick, reaching $66.26 billion, with DeFi accounting for $5.64 billion, or 8.51% of the total volume.
Bitcoin’s dominance, however, has dipped slightly to 51.84%, reflecting a 0.31% decrease over the day. This shift suggests a growing interest in alternative cryptocurrencies, as investors seek opportunities beyond Bitcoin.
