In a groundbreaking collaboration, Riot Platforms has joined forces with Reformed Energy, setting a new benchmark in sustainable energy solutions for Bitcoin mining. This strategic partnership aims to harness Reformed Energy's innovative plasma gasification technology, which converts solid waste from landfills into carbon-neutral energy, to power Riot's Bitcoin mining operations. 
Reformed Energy's proprietary technology offers a promising solution to the dual challenges of waste management and sustainable energy <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-miners-set-for-a-tough-ride-as-2024-halving-nears-jp-morgan/">production</a>. By transforming municipal solid waste and other refuse into synthesis gas, the technology not only reduces landfill waste by approximately 90% but also prevents over 99% of methane emissions typically associated with conventional waste disposal methods. This process generates a versatile gas that can be used for sustainable power generation and synthetic fuel production, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). 
The collaboration marks a significant step forward in Riot Platforms' mission to lead in the Bitcoin-driven infrastructure platform space, emphasizing the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the cryptocurrency <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/texas-residents-challenge-bitcoin-mining-industrys-impact-on-power-grid-and-communities/">mining industry</a>.
