<p>We are pleased to announce that EGX will be upgraded to V4 of the <a href="https://www.erc3643.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ERC-3643</a> contracts developed by <a href="https://tokeny.com/erc3643/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Tokeny</a>, on 13 March 2024. This is a major deliverable in our roadmap as we continue to work towards enabling Centralised Exchange (CEX) deposits for EGX.</p><h3 id="key-benefits-of-the-upgrade">Key Benefits of the Upgrade</h3><p>Amongst other benefits, the new V4 token allows us to move towards our goal of having EGX exist on multiple chains alongside Polygon, such as Ethereum and Avalanche, with a single shared token address across all networks.  The new V4 token also future-proofs EGX as the token contract itself is a proxy that delegates its logic to an implementation contract, so EGX can be &#34;upgraded&#34; in the future by simply pointing to a new implementation contract. </p><h3 id="changes-to-the-egx-token-address">Changes to the EGX Token Address</h3><p>In order to upgrade EGX to use the V4 contracts, EGX will need to be deployed as a new token, which means it will have a new token contract address. This will mean that the contract address for EGX will need to change on PolygonScan, the various CEX where EGX is listed, and various other websites and applications, including the wallets where EGX is held by token-holders.</p><p>This address change means the new V4 token will be treated as a separate token from the current V3 token. We need to qualify all existing token-holders for the new V4 token, mint their V4 tokens, and then burn all of the existing V3 tokens.</p><h3 id="what-happens-next">What Happens Next</h3><p>At 10:00AM on 13 March 2024, we will disconnect the V3 token from the Investor and Qualification Portals, pause trading on CEX, and pause all transfers, until the deployment of the V4 token is completed. Investors will not be able to login to the Investor or Qualification Portals, trade, or transfer EGX during this time, which is estimated to be less than 24 hours.  </p><p>Once the deployment process has been completed, we will connect the V4 token to the Investor and Qualification Portals, enable trading on CEX, and enable transfers. Notification of both the start and end of the process will be sent to all token-holders. </p><p>Token-holders will need to add the new V4 token address to their MetaMask or other self-custody wallet, and instructions for this will be shared with all token-holders once the deployment is complete.</p><p>Please direct any queries to our Investor Relations team via investor&#64;enegragroup.com.</p>
