BNY Mellon, a prominent financial institution, has disclosed its exposure to spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through recent filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to the <a href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1390777/000139077724000062/xslForm13F_X02/xml_filing.xml">filing</a>, the world’s oldest custodian bank holds BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) and Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), indicating a strategic move into cryptocurrency.

Meanwhile, BNY Mellon’s filing with the SEC did not reveal the specific amount of exposure to BlackRock’s IBIT and Grayscale’s GBTC. However, the move signifies a shift towards recognizing the potential of cryptocurrencies as a legitimate asset class with long-term value.&nbsp; 
Moreover, by incorporating these assets into their portfolios, financial institutions like BNY Mellon are diversifying their investment offerings and responding to growing client demand for exposure to digital assets. In January, Google, a leading search engine and tech company based in California, United States, said it is set to update its promotional policies while allowing certain crypto advertisements to be showcased on the browser.
