The Eigen Foundation has announced a massive airdrop of its native EIGEN token, with over 280,000 wallet holders set to receive $1,000 worth of EIGEN each.&nbsp; 
This kind gesture was made in response to criticism from the Eigen community about the foundation’s original distribution strategy for the EIGEN tokens. 
According to the announcement, people were unhappy with restrictions that would have prevented them from immediately selling or transferring the tokens they received. 
To make amends, the foundation has now revealed that Season 1 participants will get at least 110 EIGEN tokens each, while Season 2 participants will receive a minimum of 100 tokens. By giving away more tokens, the foundation hopes to address the community’s concerns.

Additionally, the foundation has clarified that investor tokens will become available for transfer after September 30, 2024, once new features are added to the Eigenlayer network. 
In a further effort to regain trust, the developers behind Eigenlayer have promised to make things right for eligible individuals who were accidentally left out of the initial token distribution. More details on this will be shared in the coming weeks.
