The letter emphasizes the Biden administration’s need to immediately intervene in the growing relationships between the Iranian government and local cryptocurrency miners.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">According to senators, there are attempts by Iran to use cryptocurrency mining to evade sanctions and finance actions against US interests, such as the attack on Israel in April. It is also claimed that the Iranian military uses cryptocurrency to fund certain groups, posing a direct threat to national security.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Iran has become a significant hub for <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/bitcoin-surpasses-66000-resistance-level/" data-wpel-link="internal">Bitcoin</a> mining, and allegations suggest that the central bank is directing cryptocurrencies to support the national economy. However, this growing crypto mining industry is straining the country’s energy infrastructure and raising concerns about power consumption. Consequently, mining activities are occasionally suspended irregularly.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Warren and King, high-level military and financial officials, were tasked with explaining the measures taken against the threats posed by Iran’s crypto mining activities. This letter emerged on the day of the Senate Armed Services Committee’s session on global threats.</p> 
<p style="text-align: justify">The issue comes at a time when measures need to be emphasized concerning Iran’s increasing use of cryptocurrency, as Iran’s reliance on income from crypto mining grows while battling economic sanctions, highlighting the importance of cryptocurrencies in international security.</p>
