A new kind of “hybrid” work is being offered by Microsoft, even though companies are trying to get people to come into the office more and more. A new feature called Microsoft Mesh has been released by the company. It integrates with Microsoft Teams and lets employees meet virtually, regardless of their physical location. On the other hand, a VR headset isn’t necessary for Teams’ experience because Microsoft included a 2D version (where users’ faces are shown as webcam images). So that numerous individuals can have simultaneous conversations in the same room without annoying one another, the organization also makes use of spatial audio and sound zones. In addition, it’s a terrific alternative to video conferencing for having more casual discussions. 
Consulting firm Accenture and pharmaceutical company Takeda were among the companies that tried out Microsoft’s Mesh technology. The chief technology officer of Takeda remarked that the meetings were “more intimate and immersive.” 
Mesh provides a library of pre-made environments that businesses can personalize (by doing things like adding logos) using the tools available in the Microsoft Unity platform for 2D and 3D development. 
At this time, Mesh is exclusive to desktop computers and Meta Quest virtual reality headsets. Anyone interested in Microsoft 365 or Teams for business can take advantage of a free 6-month trial. On the other hand, Microsoft 365 E5 costs $57/user/month, while Microsoft Teams Essentials costs $4/user/month.

With the official launch of Platform Mesh, Microsoft Teams now offers support for 3D and VR meetings.
