Binance’s global Law Enforcement Training Program aims to advance collaborative security in the crypto industry. They are expanding efforts in Latin America and have recently hosted a training session for El Salvador law enforcement. 
The attendees included reps of the Financial Investigation Unit, the National Digital Assets Commission, and prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General. 
The session presented tools and mechanisms set in place by Binance to support local crime fighters’ investigative work.

<h2 id="el-salvador-training-session">El Salvador training session</h2> 
The event took place at the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of El Salvador Training School and targeted the specific needs of local law enforcement officials. 
The session addressed the use of Kodex, a system facilitating communication between companies and law enforcement, and Binance’s products available in El Salvador. 
There were also addressed the best practices of interpreting and analyzing data offered by Binance to support investigations, and submit urgent requests. 
The training session was led by René Guzmán, Binance’s Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for El Salvador, and Daniel Camp, member of Binance’s Investigation team. 
The Deputy Prosecutor of the Financial Investigation Unit, Ana Virginia Samayoa Barón, and directors of the National Digital Assets Commission were also present. 
Barón detailed how<a href="https://crypto.ro/en/news/binance-announces-54th-launchpool-project-notcoin-not/"> Binance</a> democratized access to crypto while driving innovation in the blockchain ecosystem, bringing new opportunities for investors and devs worldwide. 
According to Pablo Vera, Binance’s head of Intelligence and Investigations in the Americas, the exchange is committed to working with the El Salvador authorities and all over the region to help fight against crime. 
<h2 id="a-global-push-for-preventing-investigating-and-combating-financial-crimes">A global push for preventing, investigating, and combating financial crimes</h2> 
The session that took place in El Salvador is part of a vast Binance world movement that struggles to offer critical intelligence and education to strengthen law enforcement’s efforts of preventing, investigating, and combating financial crimes. 
Daniel Acosta, Binance’s general manager for El Salvador and North of Latin America, explained that Binance plans to lead the development of the crypto space, bringing benefits to society and ensuring the security of the ecosystem and users alike. 
Acosta also said that they have invested in a security and compliance team that sets the standard for crypto service providers. 
Binance teamed up with security forces to track and locate suspicious accounts and fraudulent activities, helping fight against cyber and financial crimes. 
In 2023, Binance organized and took part n over 120 face-to-face and remote trainings and workshops with police and prosecutors’ offices all over the world, including LATAM. 
The exchange’s investigation teams responded to more than 58,000 requests coming from authorities, showing robust commitment to enhancing security in the digital finance ecosystem. 
Regarding the fight against financial crimes, Binance recently played a <a href="https://crypto.ro/en/news/binances-role-in-zkasino-scam-suspect-arrest-explained/">vital role</a> in the arrest of a scam suspect in the ZKasino case. 
The investigation focused on a large-scale scam surrounding the ZKasino platform, which led to over 30 million in crypto being invested by victims all over the world.
