David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine and cryptocurrency aide for the Trump campaign, has announced that former President Donald Trump will participate in a Presidential Roundtable on domestic Bitcoin mining. Bailey described the event as "history in the making," emphasizing that it will feature key figures from the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/texas-residents-challenge-bitcoin-mining-industrys-impact-on-power-grid-and-communities/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">mining industry</a> meeting with Trump, who he referred to as the “next president of the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/pennsylvania-a-new-hub-for-cryptomining-ignites-environmental-concerns/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">United States</a>.” Despite the lack of details on the participating companies or miners, Bailey assured that well-known industry actors would be involved, expressing confidence that they would make a strong first impression.
Trump's shift towards a pro-crypto stance was first signaled during a non-fungible token (NFT) gala in May, where he announced his campaign’s acceptance of cryptocurrency donations. He criticized President Joe Biden’s understanding of cryptocurrency and vowed to create a supportive environment for crypto in the U.S., contrasting with the current administration’s policies.
