<p>Ripple, the company behind the XRP Ledger, made several significant announcements at its recent Apex event in Amsterdam. With around 800 attendees, triple the previous event's turnout, Ripple showcased the rapidly growing ecosystem around XRP.</p>
<p>One of the major reveals was the naming of Ripple's new stablecoin as "RLXRPUSD" or "Real USD". This USD-backed stablecoin aims to provide on-chain liquidity and better crypto on/off ramps, further expanding use cases on the XRP Ledger. Ripple's David Schwartz highlighted the stablecoin's potential to reduce impermanent loss and increase yields through volatility harvesting when paired with XRP in an automated market maker (AMM).</p>
<p>Interoperability was also a key focus, with the announcement of the "XRPL EVM Sidechain" integrated into the XRP ecosystem. This Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible sidechain, enabled by Axelar, allows developers to rapidly build and launch new decentralized applications (dApps) and services like leveraged trading on the XRP Ledger. As Schwartz noted, this move ensures the XRP ecosystem remains open to emerging Web3 use cases.</p>

<p>The event highlighted significant traction among businesses adopting XRP. Uphold's CEO revealed the exchange retained over 95% of XRP users when other platforms delisted the token. The company plans to roll out "crypto neo-banking" services like interest accounts and bill pay using digital assets like XRP.</p>
<p>Ripple also teased potential future product announcements around tokenizing money market funds and other traditional financial instruments on the XRP Ledger. This foreshadows Ripple's ambitions to drive XRP's utility and liquidity into new asset classes.</p>
<p>With major technological upgrades, new product roadmaps, and a rapidly expanding ecosystem of companies building on the XRP Ledger, Ripple positioned XRP for significant growth in adoption and liquidity in the coming years. The Apex event underscored Ripple's dedication to making XRP the asset of choice for blockchain-based payments and liquidity.</p>
