The Aave protocol has launched its GHO stablecoin on the <a href="https://arbitrum.io/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Arbitrum</a> network as it expands to the Ethereum layer-2 network using <a href="https://chain.link/cross-chain" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol</a> (CCIP). 
Aave, a decentralised finance (DeFi) platform, introduces the GHO stablecoin on Arbitrum to offer users more efficient and cost-effective transactions. Using Arbitrum, Aave aims to reduce high gas fees and slow transaction speeds often seen on the Ethereum mainnet. 
According to news sources, this deployment is strategic for attracting more users to the Aave ecosystem. Arbitrum’s scalability and reduced transaction costs enable faster and cheaper transactions while maintaining Ethereum’s security and decentralization. 
“Congratulations to the Aave community on achieving this milestone for GHO’s expansion beyond the Ethereum mainnet to Arbitrum,” said Stani Kulechov, Founder and CEO of Aave Labs. 
<h2 id="b-leveraging-chainlink-s-ccip-b">Leveraging Chainlink’s CCIP</h2> 
The integration with Chainlink’s CCIP facilitates secure and seamless communication between blockchain networks, enhancing GHO stablecoin’s utility and accessibility.

Officials say that Chainlink’s CCIP ensures fast, cost-effective, secure, and reliable GHO stablecoin transactions, significantly enhancing Aave’s interoperability.

The GHO stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, is designed to maintain a stable value, making it ideal for transactions and a store of value within DeFi. The introduction of GHO on Arbitrum provides users with more options for trading, lending, and borrowing within Aave, opening new opportunities for developers to build applications using GHO.

According to reports, the price of Aave’s native token (AAVE) saw an uptick following the announcement, reflecting investor confidence in Aave’s innovation and expansion. 
To facilitate the launch, the Arbitrum DAO has allocated 750,000 ARB through the Long-Term Incentives Pilot Program. The Aave DAO service provider, ACI, has facilitated an incentive campaign from the Arbitrum ecosystem to foster growth on Arbitrum. These incentives will be available for the DAO, allowing service providers to utilize them. The Aave Liquidity Committee will use these incentives to enhance liquidity.

Additionally, CCIP’s cross-chain security innovations empower the DAO through important risk management levers such as configurable rate limits and the ability to control GHO bridge logic. Backed by Chainlink’s battle-tested infrastructure, CCIP is widely adopted across DeFi and capital markets and supports existing Aave deployments, helping to ensure smooth and secure cross-chain expansion for GHO.”
