FTX, the troubled cryptocurrency exchange, is preparing to distribute $16 billion in cash to its creditors. This move, following the exchange’s high-profile bankruptcy, could significantly impact the cryptocurrency market. By injecting substantial liquidity, FTX aims to reimburse its <a href="https://coinedition.com/ftx-bankruptcy-customers-could-recover-90-of-lost-asset-in-2024/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">former customers</a>, primarily retail investors, and potentially boost the prices of major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.
The court-approved liquidation plan is a key step in FTX’s effort to resolve its <a href="https://coinedition.com/ftx-bankruptcy-16-billion-recovered-cash-payments-planned-for-customers/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">bankruptcy proceedings</a>. Creditors will receive repayments in cash, despite objections from some who preferred payouts reflecting current cryptocurrency values.
