The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, has come out in support of AI-based investments in the state, which is the first major step towards realizing the potential of Kerala as the AI capital of India.&nbsp; 
Delivering a keynote address at the International Conclave on GenAI which was inaugurated by KSIDC in association with IBM, Vijayan underscored the possibility of making Kerala a hub for indigenously developing generative artificial intelligence. 
“We anticipate more AI based investments to flow into the State in the coming years, further boosting our efforts to become the leading AI hub,” <a href="https://cdn.24fd.com/Events/e24/07/int/gen/ai/07/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">said</a> Chief Minister Vijayan and also stressed the implementation of AI in major fields like tourism, healthcare, education, IT, and renewable energy, expecting a boost in economy and standard of living. 
This commitment is visible in the education sector where the government has incorporated AI into school textbooks beginning from class 7. This will ensure that the students are introduced to AI from an early stage in their education, to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. 
The Industries Minister of Kerala, P. Rajeeve, spoke about the capabilities of GenAI, which can transform industries by increasing their effectiveness and output. It is a platform for analyzing how GenAI can solve problems and contribute to economic and social development using tools. 
Speaking about the fears of AI causing job losses, Minister Rajeeve said that it is crucial to get new skills to be able to compete with AI. He emphasized the fact that those who master these technologies will be the ones to benefit from this change. 
The conclave will help Kerala to leap forward towards the knowledge economy by applying the latest technologies in all fields and making the state more competitive in the global market. 
This intervention is a clear testimony that the Kerala government has been keen to harness the power of AI in the state’s development, education, and social transformation.
