Tech lawyer and Founder of legal-tech company, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/ngozi-nwabueze/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ngozi Nwabueze</a> has been appointed to the board of Tech-Leap Initiative (TLI). The initiative is a subsidiary of the Lagos Business School (LBS) focused on tech startup founders. An avid legal practitioner who has dedicated her practice to revolutionising the legal practice in Africa, Ngozi has helped tech startups navigate turbulent legal waters. 
Speaking about her appointment to the TLI, the Mother-In-Law of Business as she is called, described it as an honour and a call to duty which she intends to answer and serve with humanity. 
“I look forward to this role with enthusiasm as I believe we will be shaping the narrative for the future; working hand-in-hand with LBS and LBS-TLI teams to further develop and deepen technology adoption and innovation through research, learning and empowering the drivers of this new narrative,” Ngozi said. 
Similarly, the Director of the Tech Leap Initiative, Dr Emeka Azinge noted that Ngozi’s appointment was received with great approval because her reputation as a trailblazer in the integration of technology and legal practices brings a sense of excitement and anticipation about the innovative contributions she will make. He pointed out that she possesses a number of unique qualities that make her an outstanding choice, one of which is an exceptional blend of expertise and vision. 
“With over 13 years in the legal field, Ngozi has a profound understanding of legal frameworks and challenges. As the founder and CEO of PocketLawyers.io, she has demonstrated a pioneering approach to digitizing legal services, making legal assistance more accessible and efficient. Ngozi is dedicated to empowering SMEs and startups, providing them with the tools and knowledge to succeed. She’s also a visionary leader and her forward-thinking mindset and ability to foresee and adapt to technological trends make her a valuable asset to the board,” Dr Azinge said.

<h4 id="meet-ngozi-nwabueze" class="wp-block-heading">&nbsp;Meet Ngozi Nwabueze</h4> 
Ngozi Nwabueze earned a Degree in Law from the University of Lagos in 2007 and was subsequently called to the bar in 2008. She undertook a Future Females Business School Programme at Scalabl Academy in 2021 and is also an alumnus of the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of the Pan Atlantic University. 
She is currently the Founder and CEO of PocketLawyers.io, an innovative infrastructure helping lawyers digitize their practice. She is also the Founder and Managing Partner of PocketLawyers LP, a virtual law firm that has offered legal and advisory services to over 250 businesses over the last three years. 
“By virtue of my job as a Tech Lawyer, I speak with and have advised tons of Startups across different sectors and industries, hence, I have a wide spectrum of information, knowledge and know-how about how these industries work. Also, as a Founder, I wear the same shoes these founders wear and I know where it pinches and what the issues are. These, I believe make me a perfect fit for this role, as I am sitting and seeing things from both sides of the table,” she said.

Director Emeka Azinge agrees, noting that Ngozi Nwabueze would be expected to provide strategic guidance and leverage legal and tech knowledge to drive the development of groundbreaking solutions. She is also expected to foster partnerships within the tech industry and engage in decision-making to ensure that the initiative’s objectives are met. 
“Ngozi’s involvement is likely to spur the creation of new tech solutions that revolutionize legal practices. She will mentor startups and SMEs, helping them navigate the tech landscape and achieve growth and participate in and organize influential workshops, seminars, and conferences, sharing her knowledge and inspiring others. Her contributions will be pivotal in expanding the initiative’s reach and impact within the tech community,” the director said. 
The Lagos Business School’s Tech-Leap Initiative was founded in 2024, driven by the recognition of the rapidly growing tech sector in Nigeria and Africa at large. The vision was to bridge the gap between a renowned business school and the tech industry, fostering collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange 
The initiative aims to equip stakeholders with the necessary skills and insights to thrive in a technologically advanced world.
