<p>Metagravity, led by CEO Rashid Mansoor, is pushing the boundaries of virtual world technology. With a team of 65 spread across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, the company is tackling one of the biggest challenges in web3 gaming: scalability.</p>
<p>Current multiplayer games and simulations are limited to around 100-150 concurrent players. This constraint not only affects player counts but also limits the total compute budget for AI, physics objects, and other elements. Metagravity aims to break this barrier, enabling virtual worlds that can support thousands or even millions of concurrent users without artificial limitations.</p>
<p>The company's approach builds on spatial partitioning techniques but takes them further by applying lessons from high-performance supercomputing and developing new theories of virtual world parallelization. This has led to breakthroughs that were previously considered impossible, such as supporting 30,000 concurrent players at 60 frames per second in tests with Star Atlas.</p>

<p>Metagravity's technology could revolutionize game design, allowing for truly player-driven economies and dynamic, emergent gameplay. Games like Wilder World and Edge of Chaos are leveraging this technology to create more immersive and flexible virtual environments.</p>
<p>Looking ahead, Mansoor envisions Metagravity as "the web server for the next generation of the internet," comparable to Apache for the current web. The company is also exploring blockchain integration and tokenization to create persistent, trustless virtual worlds that can outlive their original creators.</p>
<p>As web3 gaming continues to evolve, companies like Metagravity are laying the groundwork for more expansive, dynamic, and interconnected virtual experiences that could shape the future of the metaverse.</p>
