<h5><strong>Toyota’s ERC-4337 Solution Enhances Vehicle Blockchain Management</strong></h5> 
<p>Traditionally, vehicles and their associated data are managed through <a href="https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/5828/what-is-an-eoa-account" target="_blank" rel="noopener">externally owned accounts (EOAs)</a> on the blockchain. However, this method has significant drawbacks. For instance, if the private key associated with an EOA is lost due to a malfunction in the in-car device, the entire account—and thus access to critical vehicle information—is also lost. Moreover, EOAs have limited functionality on the blockchain, necessitating additional contracts to manage vehicle-related data, which adds complexity to the system.</p> 
<p>To address these issues, Toyota Blockchain Lab proposes using ERC-4337 to develop MOA. This protocol introduces <a href="https://cointelegraph.com/learn/account-abstraction-guide-to-ethereums-erc-4337-standard" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Account Abstraction</a>, which separates authentication from key management. As a result, the account itself remains secure and retrievable even if the private key is lost. This advancement ensures safer and more robust account management, making the system more resilient to device failures.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-4337" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ERC-4337 protocol</a> also supports the involvement of multiple stakeholders in the approval process for transactions related to vehicles. This includes users, owners, manufacturers, dealers, and administrative agencies, all of whom can participate in transaction validation. This collaborative approach enhances the transparency and efficiency of managing vehicle-related data.</p> 
<p>Another unique aspect of ERC-4337 is the CREATE2 opcode from EIP-1014, which allows for deterministic address setting before an account is deployed. This feature facilitates the asynchronous bridging of existing vehicle ID systems with on-chain addresses, aligning vehicle registration processes with blockchain technology more seamlessly.</p>
