Picking up the phone and having a conversation with ChatGPT is really fun. What more could there be? Of course, we could see this voice become realistic. The company took a significant step in this direction and made the Advanced Voice Mode accessible to a small group of paid users. By fall 2024, it will be available to all Plus subscribers. 
Launched in May, GPT-4o had impressed everyone with its realistic human voice. It particularly resembled the voice of actress Scarlett Johansson, known as Sky. Later, Scarlett said she would sue due to the voice similarity, and the voice was removed. 
However, this “realism” had already captivated users. The development, delayed in June, is now being launched as Advanced Voice Mode.

The new mode makes a bold entry, especially in terms of emotional intonations. It will successfully handle emotion-intensive tasks like sadness, excitement, fear, and even singing. Although it is too early for feedback from those who have experienced it, these are the promises.

OpenAI spokesperson Lindsay McCallum said:

The main reason for this is to avoid using these capabilities for deepfake purposes as much as possible. Additionally, to avoid issues with copyrighted sounds like music, the company has introduced new filters. 
Globally, OpenAI is fighting a tough battle on copyright issues, and this seems likely to intensify. Many countries, especially the EU and the US, have started working groups to ensure AI does not cause destruction in terms of copyright. The upcoming search engine feature, in particular, could significantly negatively impact the fate of internet publications.
