Nvidia Corp. has encountered a setback in the production of its newest artificial intelligence chips due to unforeseen design flaws. This delay could extend the wait for its Blackwell series by three months or more. Notably, this disruption stands to affect several of Nvidia’s major clients, including Meta Platforms Inc., Google LLC, and Microsoft Corp. 
Earlier this week, Nvidia communicated the delay specifics to Microsoft, highlighting the issues with the most advanced AI chip models. This notification aligns with statements from an anonymous Microsoft employee and another insider involved in the hardware production. 
Consequently, the anticipated large shipments of these AI chips are now projected to commence in the first quarter of 2025. Nvidia remains optimistic, with a spokesperson affirming that production should escalate later this year, despite the current challenges. 
Major tech firms like Microsoft, Google, Amazon Web Services, and Meta have opted not to comment. A request for comment from TSMC, another key player in the chip production process, similarly, went unanswered. 
The ripple effects of this delay are significant. As AI technology continues to drive essential services and innovations at these tech giants, any hiccup in the supply chain can lead to substantial operational challenges.&nbsp;
