However, the path has not been entirely smooth. Several cryptocurrency exchanges, including the HKX crypto exchange, have withdrawn their license applications due to regulatory and market uncertainties. As of July 22, 13 exchanges or trading platforms have either withdrawn their applications or faced setbacks in securing licenses.
