<p style="text-align: justify">One of President Joe Biden’s senior economic advisors and former board member of <strong>Ripple Labs</strong>, Gene Sperling, will leave the White House to join Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign. Biden announced on August 5th that Sperling had left the administration. Sperling has served as a senior advisor in the Biden administration since 2021. With about three months until Harris’s campaign, this move is seen as a strategic step against key candidate Donald Trump.</p> 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="role-of-cryptocurrencies-in-elections">Role of Cryptocurrencies in Elections</h2> 
<p style="text-align: justify">Sperling’s joining Ripple’s board in 2015 and his previous roles as an economic advisor in the Bill Clinton and Barack Obama administrations are seen as significant advantages for Harris’s campaign. Sperling’s departure could influence Harris’s stance on cryptocurrencies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Many experts predict that cryptocurrencies will be a major topic among leading party candidates in the 2024 U.S. elections. Donald Trump spoke at the Bitcoin 2024 conference on July 27th and made several promises regarding cryptocurrencies and Blockchain. In contrast, Harris’s campaign has not yet taken a clear position on crypto assets.</p> 
<p style="text-align: justify">The vice president is expected to announce her candidate by August 6th. Potential candidates include Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Sperling’s joining Harris’s campaign is the latest personnel transfer from the White House to Harris’s campaign since Biden announced on July 21st that he would not run for re-election.</p>
