Irish authorities have seized $7.1 million in cryptocurrency in a significant operation targeting darknet money laundering activities. This successful raid, conducted in North County Dublin, marks a major victory in the fight against online criminal enterprises. 
During the operation, these authorities arrested three individuals, with a 23-year-old man currently in custody. In addition to the cryptocurrency, the authorities confiscated luxury watches valued at over €120,000 and two high-powered vehicles worth approximately €220,000. These items are believed to have been acquired through illicit activities on the darknet marketplace, as reported by The BIT Journal. 
Detective Superintendent Michael Mullen of the GNCCB commented on the operation, describing it as a “highly complex investigation into criminal darknet marketplace activities.” He praised the specialist investigators involved and emphasized the importance of this raid in disrupting criminal networks within Ireland.
