An Airbnb host has added an unusual new rule after discovering her guests had been mining crypto at her property.

However, she was shocked to receive a $1,500 electricity bill. 
Upon reviewing footage from her external security cameras, Ashley noticed the guests had brought in over ten computer rigs and set up a makeshift electric vehicle charging station.&nbsp; 
After contacting the guests and providing evidence, they admitted to <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/mining/" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/tag/mining/">mining</a> crypto during their three-week stay, reportedly earning over $100,000.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="no-more-crypto-mining">No more crypto mining!</h2> 
Ashley initially struggled to get the guests to cover the bill, but Airbnb intervened, ensuring payment was made. Following the incident, she added “no crypto-mining” and “no electric vehicle charging” to her house rules.&nbsp; 
Other Airbnb hosts have reportedly implemented similar measures in response to the energy-intensive nature of cryptocurrency mining, which is known to be a significant drain on electricity resources. 
“It was cheaper for them to rent a house than to pay for that electricity,” said Ashley in her TikTok.
