Intersect’s announcement emphasizes that the update is critical for Cardano’s development and aims to further strengthen protocol efficiency and governance mechanisms.</p> 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="chang-hard-fork-a-critical-moment-for-governance">Chang Hard Fork: A Critical Moment for Governance</h2> 
<p style="text-align: justify">The significant update on the Cardano network will enable a more effective governance system. Intersect stated that the <strong>Chang hard fork</strong> working group evaluated progress and considered community feedback in their meetings.</p> 
<p style="text-align: justify">The announcement revealed that the first Chang hard fork on the mainnet is scheduled for August 27, with the final decision planned for August 23.</p> 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="technical-preparations-and-liquidity-concerns">Technical Preparations and Liquidity Concerns</h2> 
<p style="text-align: justify">Significant milestones have been achieved in preparation for the hard fork. Although 80% participation has been achieved among Stake Pool Operators (SPO), only 28% of <a>exchanges</a> have updated, which is well below the target of 85%.</p>

Intersect noted that SPO preparations were completed last week, exchange liquidity metrics are progressing positively, and they received positive feedback from many leading DApps.</p> 
<p style="text-align: justify">A comprehensive program involving governance actions and a signature process will be implemented before the hard fork. The program will start four days before the hard fork, calling on all stakeholders to complete their preparations. Intersect emphasized that all parties must prepare for this critical juncture, stating, “The upgrade time has come! If there is any reason or dependency preventing your upgrade, we need to know now.”</p> 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="pre-production-hard-fork-on-august-22">Pre-Production Hard Fork on August 22</h2> 
<p style="text-align: justify">A pre-production hard fork is planned for August 22 before the mainnet hard fork. According to the plan, final tests and adjustments will be made before the main deployment. <strong>Cardano</strong> founder Charles Hoskinson expressed his excitement about the upcoming update, highlighting its strategic importance. In a social media post, he shared his excitement with the words, “Are you ready for Chang? The rocket is ready for launch. Governance is coming.”</p> 
<p style="text-align: justify">Cardano’s developer Input Output released a new version of the Daedalus wallet to comply with the Chang hard fork. <strong>Daedalus</strong> 6.0.0 was introduced as a mandatory update to transition to the Conway era and continue operating on the mainnet post-Chang hard fork. All users were required to upgrade to this version.</p>
