<p>Bitfarms Ltd, a Canadian Bitcoin mining company, is getting ready to pay $164 million to acquire Stronghold Digital Mining as&nbsp; posted on X by the firm. This comes after Riot Platforms' abortive attempt to acquire Bitfarms earlier in June. <p>Bitfarms stated in a press release on August 21 that it would exchange 2.5 of its shares for every share of Stronghold Digital Mining. Stronghold's current debt, which has posed a serious burden for the business, is being assumed as part of this deal.&nbsp;</p>  
<p>Notably, Stronghold announced earlier this year in May that it intended to sell the business because of extreme financial strain that followed the April Bitcoin halving event. <p>Furthermore, due to the ongoing selling by Bitcoin miners, such as Bitfarms, following the halving event, Bitcoin underperformed gold and equities in the second quarter. Nonetheless, some industry analysts think that the worst of the miner's surrender may have passed, and investors are anticipating a potential spike in the price of Bitcoin following the halving.</p>

<p>Bitfarms sees potential in acquiring Stronghold despite the obstacles the company faces. Through the use of Stronghold's power generation capabilities and connections to local power grids, Bitfarms' mining capacity is anticipated to increase as a result of the acquisition.&nbsp;</p>  
<p>Moreover, Bitfarms showed that it could handle the fluctuating Bitcoin market by generating $41.5 million in revenue in the most recent quarter.
