The global miners claimed that Russia was aiming to seek various cryptocurrencies as a way of circumventing the strict measures, such as sanctions, that were placed on the country as a result of the ongoing geopolitical conflicts, especially those concerning Ukraine.
These sanctions have limited Russia’s ability to utilize the International Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), forcing Russia to seek other means of carrying out cross-border transactions. Cryptocurrency as an Instrument for Evading Sanctions&nbsp; 
As conventional monetary structures are out of reach by sanctioning, Russia has now turned to cryptocurrencies for its transactions. Unlike traditional financial systems, <a href="https://news.todayq.com/ai-based-cryptocurrencies-surpass-4-billion-market-cap/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">cryptocurrencies</a> are contained in decentralized structures. Hence, international organizations find it difficult to include them.
This move would be a strategic change by Russia in its balance of payments policy since moving the currency to Cryptocurrency means changing the balance of payments cycle.
There is also the problem of how the Russian Federation can ‘cash out’ cryptocurrencies into the traditional money needed for importing goods and services and other economic transactions.&nbsp;
However, most multinational companies still need payments in more stable currencies such as the US dollar or euro.&nbsp;
Using currencies like the dollar, euro, and others directly in the given economy while being a large emitter of cryptocurrency would be a provoking problem for Russia.
On a different note, states’ acceptance of <a href="https://news.todayq.com/what-are-cryptocurrency-mixers-a-deep-dive/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">cryptocurrency</a> could accelerate even increased regulation of such currencies internationally.&nbsp;
The US and other Western countries might demand more robust international mechanisms specifically targeting and regulating cryptocurrencies to eliminate the chances of their usage in circumventing sanctions.&nbsp;
Moreover, developing the state’s digital currencies, such as the digital rubles, may result in a more bipolar world economy. As countries adopt their own Central Bank Digital Currencies, the globe’s tendencies could shift from dependence on the American greenback.&nbsp;
In this context, it will be necessary to follow the further development of Russia’s approach to cryptocurrency and determine whether it will reach the expected economic and political results.
