Metaplanet, a publicly traded Japanese company often dubbed “Asia’s MicroStrategy,” has reinforced its commitment to Bitcoin. On Tuesday, the company revealed it had purchased an <a href="https://contents.xj-storage.jp/xcontents/33500/adbc3dee/cb75/4591/be6f/24e17fbc66f6/140120240906582154.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">additional ¥300 million</a> worth of Bitcoin, raising its total holdings to around 400 BTC.
The latest purchase was funded through the exercise of stock acquisition rights by Metaplanet’s management team. The company had previously indicated its intent to use these funds for further Bitcoin investment.
Specifically, the exercise raised ¥229.7 million, which was directed towards the purchase of additional Bitcoin. This move reflected the management’s certainty in Bitcoin as a valuable long-term asset.
