<p class="is-style-lead">Following the Tuesday, Sept. 10, debate between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, their odds are now tied on Polymarket.</p> 
<p>Trump’s 5% <a href="https://crypto.news/polymarket-trumps-lead-over-harris-is-growing/" target="_blank">lead</a> against Harris has plunged on the prediction platform Polymarket after their first-ever debate. According to data provided by Polymarket, both candidates are currently tied with 49% winning odds in the forthcoming U.S. elections.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, the former U.S. president saw his chances rise to 72% in July after the <a href="https://crypto.news/bitcoin-nashville-starts-today-what-to-expect/" target="_blank">Bitcoin 2024</a> conference in Nashville.</p> 
<p>The total amount of bets on the next U.S. president has exceeded $860 million, per Polymarket data. Of this tally, Trump is still leading with over $130 million, followed by Harris’ $114 million.</p>

<p>While some analysts believe that Harris made Trump “lose his cool multiple times,” the billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk claims the hosts were “unfair” to Trump.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It’s important to note that there are <a href="https://crypto.news/polymarket-shows-rising-odds-of-trump-nominating-musk-to-cabinet/" target="_blank">expectations</a> of Trump bringing Musk to the cabinet if elected.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>The crypto market witnessed bearish momentum following the debate between Trump and Harris. According to <a href="https://www.coingecko.com/en/global-charts" target="_blank">data</a> from CoinGecko, the global crypto market cap declined by 1.7% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $2.07 trillion.</p> 
<p>Bitcoin (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/bitcoin/" target="_blank">BTC</a>) slipped 1% and is trading at $56,500 at the time of writing. Ethereum (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/ethereum/" target="_blank">ETH</a>) witnessed a similar drop and is currently hovering at $2,330.</p>
