<p>On September 19, PeckShield, a blockchain security firm, reported that the official Decentraland X <a href="https://x.com/decentraland" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">account </a>had been hacked. Attackers are now circulating a phishing link disguised as a MANA token airdrop. This deceptive link redirects users to a fraudulent website, where they are prompted to connect their wallets to claim the <a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/my-neighbor-alice-announces-airdrop-campaign-ahead-of-beta-season-2-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">airdrop</a>. Unfortunately, this results in compromised funds shortly afterward.</p>

<p>PeckShield has issued a warning advising users to avoid interacting with the compromised Decentraland account. They recommend not clicking on the link or engaging with related posts. Users should wait for further announcements from Decentraland’s official social media to confirm the restoration of account security.</p>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-rising-trend-in-twitter-account-hacks">Rising Trend In Twitter Account Hacks</h3>
<p>Luigi D’Onorio DeMeo, Chief Operating Officer of <a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/ava-labs-coos-x-account-hacked-to-promote-scam-airdrops/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ava Labs</a>, recently had his Twitter account hacked. The breach became apparent through posts promoting a new Pokémon-themed memecoin allegedly associated with DeMeo. These posts, which have since been removed, contained dubious airdrop links. Additionally, the account disabled comments to prevent others from posting warnings about the scam, citing concerns over “malicious links” being shared in the comments section. Consequently, this type of social media breach is becoming increasingly common.</p>

The scam messages began circulating at 01:50 am on September 19, with posts announcing the fake MANA airdrop. The scammers also disabled comments to avoid detection.</p>
