According to Igor Runets, CEO of <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/rossiya-sravnyalas-s-ssha-po-tempam-rosta-majninga-kriptovalyut/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BitRiver</a>, <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/russia-s-energy-ministry-charges-forward-to-legalize-crypto-mining/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Russia</a>'s crypto mining growth is outpacing that of the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/pennsylvania-a-new-hub-for-cryptomining-ignites-environmental-concerns/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">United States</a>. The country is rapidly expanding its capabilities, with total mining power reaching 2.5 gigawatts.
Following the legalization of industrial mining on September 1, interest in the sector has surged. Major companies, including Gazprom, plan to open mining centers, such as a 500-rig farm in Veliky Novgorod.
Analysts believe that Russia could become a global leader in mining, given the current growth rates and governmental support for the industry.
