The cryptocurrency market started the week with a downturn as Bitcoin (BTC) slipped from $66,000 to below $64,000. Altcoins followed suit, though some are defying the trend. One such standout is EigenLayer (EIGEN), which saw a price surge after Binance announced it would be listing the token. Additionally, Binance released important updates for 10 other altcoins, sparking investor interest. 
<h2 id="binance-to-list-eigenlayer-eigen">Binance to List EigenLayer (EIGEN)</h2> 
As reported by The Bit Journal, Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency <a href="https://thebitjournal.com/major-bitcoin-exchange-delists-27-altcoins-some-suffer-heavy-losses/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">exchange</a>, will add EigenLayer (EIGEN) to its listings on October 1, 2024, at 06:00 (UK time). Alongside the listing, Binance will introduce trading pairs for EIGEN/BTC, EIGEN/USDT, EIGEN/FDUSD. Users can already start depositing EIGEN in preparation for trading, and withdrawals will be available starting October 2 at 06:00 (UK time). 
<h2 id="eigen-futures-jump-by-8-46">EIGEN Futures Jump by 8.46%</h2> 
Following the listing announcement, EIGEN futures saw a sharp 8.46% increase, reaching $4.44 in just 24 hours. This upward movement has attracted significant attention, with the token’s contracts currently trading around $4.14, signaling strong market momentum.

In addition to the EigenLayer listing, Binance announced leverage and margin updates for 10 altcoins. These updates, which took effect on September 30, 2024, at 09:30 (UK time), apply to U-margined perpetual contracts for tokens like NEARUSDT, OMUSDT, SUIUSDT, and 1000PEPEUSDT, among others. This move is expected to impact trading volumes and strategies for these altcoins.

In a separate development, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of Binance, shared his future plans after his recent release from a Californian correctional facility. Through social media, CZ outlined his focus on tech innovations and social impact, particularly in education and philanthropy. He highlighted projects like the Giggle Academy, a nonprofit initiative offering accessible learning opportunities, as part of his long-term commitment to blockchain, AI, and biotechnology.
