As crypto mining activities experience fierce competition due to the aftermath of the 2024 Bitcoin halving, most miners are exploring ways to increase their computation power. CleanSpark efforts to improve mining capability were recently turned futile after the most dangerous storm, Hurricane Helene, struck its mining facility.

The heavy storms struck the US’ Big Bend’ region on Thursday, August 26. The storm caused major damage and displaced hundreds from Georgia, Florida, and Carolina. 
As the affected cities suffered unexpected washouts, Bitcoin miners were left counting losses. The CEO expressed his disappointment that the storms lowered the miner’s mining potential by reducing its hash rate by half. 
 Bradford confessed the Bitcoin miner operating hash rate dropped from 28 EH/s to around 10.5 EH/s.&nbsp;This forced the troubled&nbsp; Bitcoin miner was forced to take preventive measures to sustain its operation. 
The CEO confirmed that his&nbsp;team is working to restore its power while some of its facilities remain shut.

The executive stated that its 365 MegaWatts mining facility in Southeast Georgia was shut down on Friday, September 27.The unexpected closure of the mining facility aimed to enable the crypto miner to mitigate risks caused by the storms. 
<h2 id="strong-cleanspark-recovery-process-ongoing-strong">CleanSpark Recovery Process Ongoing</h2> 
The CEO was pleased to announce that the company has restored 200 MW after working around the clock for three days. As of September 30, the Bitcoin miner registered a hash rate of 22 EH/s. 
With ongoing development, Bradford remains optimistic that the miner will restore its mining capability soon to support the responsible mining of giant coins such as BTC. 
He projects that the technical team will restore the remaining 165 MegaWatts by October 4. The executive confessed that the storms interrupted the supplies of essential necessities such as electricity.

A recent report shows 2 million Americans have remained unconnected to power for the last five days. However, Bradford projects that if the authority restores the power supply, the crypto miners will resume their normal operation immediately. 
<h2 id="strong-hurricane-hellene-caused-significant-damages-strong">Hurricane Hellene Caused Significant Damages</h2> 
Despite the power outages, the miner managed to sustain its operating hash rates slightly above 10.5 EH/s in its other Northwest Georgia division. With the hope of resuming operation soon, the CEO admitted that the Bitcoin miners suffered minimal material damages. 
This implies that despite Hurricane Helene causing significant damage to the road network and infrastructures, CleanSpark suffered minor damage. However, the CEO confirmed that the CleanSpark team has yet to assess the losses caused by the storm. 
 Bradford stated that they would commence the loss evaluation process as soon as CleanSpark restores operations at the affected sites. Citing the damages caused by historical-making storms, Bradford confirmed that the CleanSpark team was out of danger. 
According to recent reports, Hurricane Hellene claimed the lives of 128 individuals as of September 30. The hurricane has left hundreds misplaced and cities covered with muddy storm waters. The catastrophic event has created fear as many search for their loved ones. 
A statement from the county manager, Avril Pinder, reveals that the storms and gusty winds claimed the lives of 40 individuals in Buncombe County and 56 in North Carolina. 
The county boss lamented that brown floodwaters cover most cities and undermine the recovery process. As hundreds are left without water or food, the authorities have urged well-wishers to support the Hurricane Hellene victims.
