He proposed a new approach to improve transaction functionality that involves using Hooks, a flexible, low-cost system that supports decentralized applications like Evernode, and adopting a new token, Codii, a token derived from locked XRP and burned for Hook-related fees.
This approach will allow the execution of smart contracts on the XRP Ledger and manage costs for users.
Responding to the proposal was David Schwartz, CTO of Ripple, who <a href="https://x.com/scotty2ten/status/1840034628100653375" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">countered</a> the initiative, noting that this approach will only overcomplicate the situation without any real benefits.&nbsp;
Schwartz added that burning XRP for every transaction as is currently done is a better alternative than Scott’s strategy. However, Scott Chamberlain fired back, stating that burning XRP for programmability would only make smart contracts too exorbitant when XRP’s price increases.
To avoid this, Codii would provide an autonomous system in which XRP holders can cover Hook fees effectively by adjusting the inflationary balance.&nbsp;
Amid this discussion, XRP <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/xrp/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">registered</a> an intraday gain of 4.97% to $0.65 and a weekly rally of 11.03%. As the Ripple coin pulls back briefly from the rally, investors turn their attention to promising AI coins for gains.

The analyst believes NEAR is on the verge of replicating the price action witnessed in Q4 2023 and Q1 2024 to achieve these levels.
Per the analyst, the target prices for NEAR during the next bullish wave are $29 and $52. The first target, which is $29, indicates the initial level NEAR is expected to reach during the market leg-up. This price level represents a considerable upside from its current price level.
However, the second target of $52 is what the analyst calls the “Macro bull market top.” This level would mark an all-time high for NEAR Protocol’s NEAR if attained. At present, NEAR is <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/near-protocol/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">trading at $5.46</a>, down 0.36% in the last 24 hours.
