Hive Digital has announced the construction of a 100 MW mining center in <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitfarms-expands-bitcoin-mining-with-renewable-energy-in-paraguay/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Paraguay</a>. The new facility will enable the company to achieve 2-3% of the global Bitcoin <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-miners-set-for-a-tough-ride-as-2024-halving-nears-jp-morgan/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">hash rate</a>.
Paraguay was chosen due to the availability of low-cost hydroelectric power. <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/minnesota-man-faces-accusations-of-electricity-theft-for-bitcoin-mining/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Electricity</a> costs will be about $0.035 per kWh, significantly reducing operational expenses.
Construction is scheduled for completion by mid-2025. The center is expected to be equipped with advanced ASIC miners, providing an additional hash rate of 10 EH/s.
