<a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/marathon-digital-to-boost-energy-efficiency-with-s19-xp-miners/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Marathon</a> Digital Holdings has announced the co-founding of Auradine, the first U.S.-based manufacturer of Bitcoin mining ASICs. The new company aims to produce ASIC devices capable of competing with foreign counterparts. Investments in Auradine amount to $50 million, which will increase <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-miners-set-for-a-tough-ride-as-2024-halving-nears-jp-morgan/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">production</a> capacity and create over 200 new jobs.
Marathon already operates 13 mining centers across four continents but has so far relied on foreign equipment suppliers. The creation of Auradine will reduce dependency on imports, strengthening the U.S. position in the global Bitcoin mining market.
According to forecasts, Auradine will be able to produce up to 20,000 ASIC devices per month, increasing Marathon's total <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/impending-bitcoin-halving-may-trigger-major-hashrate-decline-say-experts/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">hashrate</a> by 30%. The first devices are expected to be available to customers in the first quarter of 2025.
