<h4><strong>CEO Pavel Durov announced that Telegram will soon allow users to convert special animated gifts into NFTs, or non-fungible tokens</strong></h4> 
<p>While they haven’t given a specific launch date, Durov promised that this exciting NFT feature would be available “later this year.”</p> 
<h5><strong>What Are Gifts?</strong></h5> 
<p>On October 5th, Telegram <a href="https://telegram.org/blog/gifts-verification-platform/es?setln=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">introduced</a> its new “Gifts” feature. These gifts are animated images that people can use to congratulate friends or family. When someone receives a gift, they can show it off on their profile in a special “Gifts” tab. What’s even cooler is that recipients can convert these gifts into an in-app currency called Stars.</p> 
<p><a href="https://telegram.org/blog/telegram-stars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stars</a> were launched by Telegram back on June 6th, 2024. This in-app currency lets users pay for digital services through Mini Apps on the platform. It also helps support creators who share content on Telegram. So, if you love what someone is doing, you can give them some Stars as a way of saying “thanks!”</p>

<p>As part of the Gifts feature, Durov mentioned that some of these animated artworks will be limited in supply. This means there won’t be many of them, making them even more special. Once the feature launches, users will have the option to convert these limited-edition gifts into <a href="https://www.altcoinbuzz.io/?s=ton+nft" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TON-based NFTs</a>. This conversion will allow users to take their gifts and turn them into digital collectibles that exist on the blockchain.</p> 
<p>Once they become NFTs, these gifts can be used outside of Telegram. Durov <a href="https://t.me/durov/348" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explained</a> that users will be able to auction and trade these tokenized gifts, with ownership tracked on the blockchain. It’s a great way for people to not only enjoy their gifts but also to share them with others in the digital world.</p>
