The Russian government is considering banning crypto mining in specific regions, where infrastructure cannot handle the rapid expansion of mining farms. The main concern is the overloading of the energy system and the risk of blackouts. 
The Ministry of Energy proposes to limit or entirely prohibit mining in regions with high consumption levels and insufficient energy capacity. This particularly affects <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/russia-s-energy-ministry-charges-forward-to-legalize-crypto-mining/">Siberia</a> and the Far East, where the most significant growth in <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/abkhazia-intensifies-crackdown-on-illegal-crypto-mining/">illegal mining</a> is observed. 
New legislative measures are expected to be introduced early next year. They aim to protect citizens' interests and ensure the stable operation of the energy system.
