According to a recent study, Iran has the world's lowest Bitcoin mining costs, with the expense of mining one BTC being just $1,300. This is due to subsidized <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/minnesota-man-faces-accusations-of-electricity-theft-for-bitcoin-mining/">electricity</a> prices and abundant oil and gas resources. 
However, such low costs raise concerns that oil might be diverted for mining instead of civilian use. The Iranian government has suspended crypto mining multiple times to prevent overloading the power grid and to ensure stable supply for the population. 
Experts note that <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/abkhazia-intensifies-crackdown-on-illegal-crypto-mining/">illegal mining</a> remains a significant issue in the country despite bans and fines. This puts pressure on infrastructure and causes power outages during peak consumption periods.
