One of the main reasons some gamers haven’t tried Web3 games is the complicated process of using cryptocurrency wallets. 
Web3 gaming protocol Elympics collaborated with the Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA) and blockchain game data tracker PlayToEarn to <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://static.elympics.cc/reports/Global-Gaming-Report-2024_Elympics_BGA_PlayToEarn.pdf" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" text="null" title="https://static.elympics.cc/reports/Global-Gaming-Report-2024_Elympics_BGA_PlayToEarn.pdf">produce</a> an industry report titled: “The Future of Web3 Gaming is Competitive: Global Gaming Report 2024.” 
The report examined the current state of blockchain gaming and surveyed 1,000 gamers worldwide to gather their thoughts on Web3 games.
The report asked gamers why they play games and why some survey participants have not tried blockchain-based games.&nbsp;

More than 10% of survey participants said complicated cryptocurrency wallets are the primary reason they haven’t played blockchain games. Meanwhile, 7.3% of those surveyed said they don’t understand the value of Web3 gaming.

Another 2.4% of gamers said they are content with Web2 gaming. Additionally, 9.1% of participants said blockchain-based gaming doesn’t appeal to them. 
When asked why they play games, many participants cited airdrops and the potential to earn money as their primary reasons. Another popular reason was the opportunity to compete with other players.&nbsp;

In the report, Elympics CEO Michal Dabrowski said that Web3 gaming has “struggled” to appeal to mainstream gamers. Still, the executive believes that there’s a significant shift coming. Dabrowski wrote:&nbsp;

 “The entry of infrastructure players like TON into the web3 gaming space is introducing powerful social distribution networks and highly engaged communities.”
</blockquote>
Dabrowski added that as more developers choose to build within Web3, high-quality games will gain more traction.

<h2 id="highlighting-the-importance-of-convenience">Highlighting the importance of convenience</h2>
While crypto wallet complications may have prevented some gamers from trying out Web3 games, crypto projects like The Open Network (TON) have been working to lower this barrier.&nbsp;
On April 19, TON Foundation director of investments Justin Hyun told Cointelegraph that Telegram’s Mini Apps would become so convenient that users would <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/new-telegram-mini-apps-convenient-users-crypto" rel="null" target="null" text="null" title="null">interact with crypto</a> without noticing it.
Since then, users have flocked to the TON ecosystem to play clicker games.
