In a comprehensive article on Warpcast, he discussed critical improvements necessary for enhancing Ethereum’s functionality following its transition to PoS after The Merge.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="strong-what-are-the-current-challenges-in-ethereum-s-pos-strong"><strong>What Are the Current Challenges in Ethereum’s PoS?</strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify">Buterin noted that while Ethereum’s PoS has maintained stability for two years, it is vital to attract more validators by reducing the staking threshold from 32 ETH to just 1 ETH. This change is expected to foster greater decentralization by encouraging individual validators to participate more actively.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="strong-what-solutions-does-buterin-propose-strong"><strong>What Solutions Does Buterin Propose?</strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify">To address these challenges, Buterin outlined three innovative strategies. The first involves improved signature aggregation protocols, allowing for streamlined processing of signatures from numerous validators simultaneously. The second strategy introduces “Orbit committees,” which will facilitate block finalization through randomly selected committees at regular intervals, ensuring quick processing with fewer validators. Lastly, a two-tier staking model would assign different responsibilities based on the amount of ETH staked, balancing economic stability and block validation.</p>
