<p>Lookonchain, a blockchain analytics platform, revealed on X today that a crypto investor has lost a large sum of digital assets due to a phishing attack. He noted that the investor fell victim to a “Permit2” phishing signature scam, resulting in his wallet being completely emptied.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Moreover, the stolen assets included major cryptocurrencies such as MicroStrategy stock tokens (MSTR), ApeCoin (APU), and a significant amount of<a href="https://captainaltcoin.com/pepe-price-pumps-30-but-which-meme-coin-is-best-to-invest-in-now/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> the popular memecoin PEPE</a>.</p>

<p>This incident serves as a reminder for crypto users to exercise caution when interacting with unknown links or signing suspicious signatures. The loss highlights the vulnerability that can arise from phishing schemes targeting digital wallets.</p>
<p>The Lookonchain tweet provided detailed information about the stolen funds, listing the specific amounts of each token. Among the assets lost were 165,008 MSTR tokens, valued at approximately $169,000. Additionally, 73.83 million APU tokens, estimated to be worth $68,000, were taken from the investor’s wallet.</p>
<p>The most valuable portion of the stolen assets, however, came from the <a class="wpil_keyword_link" href="https://captainaltcoin.com/meme-coins/" title="memecoin" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">memecoin</a> PEPE. The attacker extracted a staggering 107.8 billion<a href="https://captainaltcoin.com/pepe-price-dips-30-heres-why-you-should-avoid-buying-this-dead-meme-coin/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> PEPE tokens</a> with an estimated value of $1.05 million.</p>
<p>The Lookonchain team revealed that the attack was executed through a phishing signature scam called “Permit2.” This method involved tricking the investor into signing an unauthorized transaction, allowing the attacker to gain full access to the wallet. Once the signature was provided, the attacker swiftly drained the entire wallet of its contents.</p>

<p>Furthermore, tricks to steal crypto money, like Permit2, have gotten sneakier. They try to fool people who don’t know much about the dangers of agreeing to unknown requests. Lookonchain told crypto users to be extra careful. They said to always make sure any request to approve something is real before saying yes. This helps avoid falling for these tricks.</p>
