<h4><strong>In September alone, scammers stole over $46 million worth. Now, a new wave of phishing emails is targeting Ledger users. </strong></h4> 
<p>These emails are designed to steal your cryptocurrency holdings by tricking you into sharing your personal information. Let’s discover more about these cases of phising emails.</p> 
<h5><strong>The Latest Crypto Scam</strong></h5> 
<p>The recent <a href="https://www.altcoinbuzz.io/?s=scam+emails" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scam emails</a> claim that users need to activate a feature called “Ledger Clear Signing” by October 31. If you don’t, they say, you won’t be able to use your Ledger device safely. However, these emails come from addresses not linked to Ledger at all. Instead, they try to redirect you to a harmful website to activate this fake feature.</p>

<p>The emails often say things like, “To continue using your Ledger device securely, activating Clear Signing is mandatory starting November 1, 2024. This feature is essential in protecting your assets from phishing attacks and fraudulent activities that are becoming more sophisticated.” But don’t be fooled.</p> 
<p>Phishing scams aim to deceive people into willingly sharing their account details. They often look convincing but lead to websites that have nothing to do with the legitimate service. It’s like being offered a golden ticket but realizing it leads to a dead end.</p>

<h5><strong>The Dangers of Phishing</strong></h5> 
<p>Phishing attacks can have serious consequences. In May, a <a href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/trader-loses-68-million-address-poisoning-scam" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trader lost</a> a staggering $71 million in one of the biggest phishing scams of the year. The attacker tricked the trader into sending 99% of their funds to their account. Unfortunately, Ledger’s hardware wallets are some of the most popular in the industry, making its users prime targets for these types of scams.</p> 
<p>So, how can you protect yourself? The best rule of thumb is to avoid clicking on suspicious links or giving any personal information to unknown sources. Always double-check the email address and be wary of any urgent requests. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.</p>

<p>Experts warn that this new wave of phishing emails is a “very clean Ledger scam,” according to Thomas Roccia, a senior threat researcher at Microsoft. He points out that the scam link takes you to a URL that has nothing to do with <a href="https://www.altcoinbuzz.io/?s=Ledger" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ledger</a>.</p>
