<p>Hong Kong police broke up a crime gang that had channeled fifty million dollars in cryptocurrency scams which scammed individuals under the pretext of offering a romantic relationship through AI-generated images. Those behind the scam managed to brainwash the victims by creating fake crypto investment platforms; law enforcement netted 27, including assets seized and details related to fraud training documents.</p>

<p>Amassing more than $50M from their scams, this network deceived victims into believing they were putting money into real investments by showing them fake profit records. Hong Kong police seized mobile devices and items of luxury bought with illicit funds.</p>
