Ripple has pledged $1 million to research how blockchain and its already existing RLUSD stablecoin can improve the process of delivering humanitarian assistance in conflict zones. According to<a href="https://cryptoslate.com/ripple-commits-1m-to-boost-crisis-aid-with-blockchain-and-rlusd-stablecoin/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"> crypto sources</a>, the partnership was announced on the 16th October, 2024 with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), which is a reputable organization aiming at helping the affected by crises. This effort is part of Ripple’s strategy to utilize company’s blockchain services for making a positive change.

Ripple’s latest move falls in its continued efforts to promote blockchain technology and stablecoins in the relief dispensation, especially in the developing world where financial inclusion is minimal. Ripple’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Eric Van Miltenburg, described the collaboration as a big step in Ripple’s continued efforts to work with blockchain for a better world. He has stressed especially the need to provide resources tremendously, safely and as soon as possible to vulnerable receivers.

The current geographical coverage of Ripple’s cross-border payment solutions is in over 90 countries, and the provided services are used in more than 37 million transactions, totalling nearly 70 billion USD. As the worldρωνs of the RLUSD stablecoin demonstrate, Ripple is keen on disrupting aid delivery by incorporating blockchain technologies. This, according to the firm, can enhance the efficiency, security, and accountability of cash transfers, hence making the impact of aid more effective. 
Eric Van Miltenburg, discussing the partnership, said, “Our collaboration with the IRC represents a key milestone in our mission to explore how blockchain technology, particularly stablecoins like RLUSD, can be used for social good. As it has been directly involved in delivering aid across over 40 countries and will use the potential of the RLUSD stablecoin for large-scale cash relief programs.
