The cryptocurrency market continues to experience volatility as Bitcoin (BTC) briefly touched the $68,000 mark today, stirring excitement among investors. Meanwhile, other major altcoins like Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and XRP displayed mixed performances. Among the top performers were POPCAT and MEW, both surging nearly 11% in value.

In the last 24 hours, the total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies increased by 0.21%, reaching $2.33 trillion. However, trading volumes have decreased, with the total market volume dropping 6% to $75.89 billion. This suggests a slight weakening in overall trading activity. While Bitcoin closed the previous trading day at $67,738, Ethereum finished at $2,617. Notably, Solana declined by over 1%, and XRP continued to face pressure due to its ongoing legal battle with the SEC, leading to further losses.

Memecoins have once again captured investor attention. MEW climbed 11%, reaching $0.009448, while POPCAT also rose 11%, hitting $1.39. Celestia followed suit with a 6% increase. On the downside, Maker DAO dropped 7%, Starknet lost 6%, and Bonk fell by 4%. The hourly charts reflected continued fluctuations across the board, with Bitcoin shedding 0.14% and Ethereum 0.05%.
