As the expiration time approaches, it’s anticipated that Bitcoin prices may trend toward this level, potentially leading to a decrease in value.</p><h2 id="header-1">ETHEREUM OPTIONS EXPIRATION</h2><p>In parallel, Ethereum (ETH) options valued at $367 million are also expiring today. The number of contracts, 140,320, has decreased compared to last week.</p><p>The put-to-call ratio for Ethereum is at 0.62, with a maximum pain point of $2,500. Although Ethereum is currently trading at $2,617, above that pain point, the expiration of these options could still result in some short-term price fluctuations.</p><img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/srd-optimized-uploads/3a83fab7408d4011b8201450c3f7e30c.jpg" /><h2 id="header-2">MARKET ANALYSIS AND PRICE PROJECTIONS</h2><p>As the expiration time nears, both Bitcoin and Ethereum prices are predicted to move closer to their respective maximum pain points, a concept referred to as the Max Pain theory.</p><p>This theory posits that options prices frequently converge around strike prices where most contracts expire worthless, potentially causing a decline in value. Once Deribit concludes the contracts at 08:00 UTC on Friday, the price pressure may begin to ease.</p><h2 id="header-3">MARKET TRENDS AND LONG-TERM PROJECTIONS</h2><p>Analysts believe the market could witness a resurgence, potentially driving Bitcoin to attempt to reach its all-time high of $73,777 once again.
