Scam Sniffer, a Web3 anti-scam solution provider&nbsp; has mentioned that Soneium is a masked crypto wallet drainer that appears as a form of sponsored ad on Google. The malicious link claims itself to be a website link for Soneium, a cutting edge blockchain system.&nbsp; 
Sony Block Solutions took social media app, X on October 22 to claim that the team of the firm found a malicious link that drives to a website which claims itself of Soneium but actually it is a wallet drainer.&nbsp;&nbsp; 
The firm further added that while searching for Soneium on Google, the team was redirected to a phishing ad. Phishing can take place while you are not paying much attention, also it can happen if you spell soneium as someium by mistake.&nbsp; Technology was used to go undetectable Scam Sniffer has also shared that phishing link to a reliable media source and it can be clearly seen that the domain suffix used by the phishing link was not the same as that of Soneium’s website. After clicking the link, it appears to be a simple and incomplete landing page for a radiology service provider from Britain. 
The attackers involved in the phishing activity were using some technology to mask the page and go undetectable over google, the anti-scam solution provider noted. The firm further went on adding that, in particular if you are not targeted then it is not easy to detect and this is the reason Google is not able to know about it.&nbsp; 
Google has not spoken a single word about this matter and even not commented over the link yet.&nbsp;

In the beginning of October 2024, the anti-scam solution provider released a report in which it mentioned that, in September this year, about $46 million worth of crypto was looted from about 10,800 accounts of users as a part of a phishing scam.&nbsp; 
In Q3 of this year, an estimation of about $127 million worth of crypto was looted from investors. Also, the hackers targeted Ether wallets for carrying out most of their phishing scams.&nbsp; 
In the end of April, a report was released mentioning that more than $4 million was taken out in just a few weeks from the account of users who got trapped over advertisements of <a href="https://news.todayq.com/binance-backs-indian-agencies-in-goldcoat-solar-scam-takedown/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">phishing</a> websites over Google Search.&nbsp; 
The attackers captured domain names whose URLs were as similar as any crypto brand along with protocols. The similarity of the URLs distracted the users and due to which they were not able to distinguish between the real link and the malicious one and somehow ended up getting trapped in it.&nbsp;
